Desert House Project
A sample photogrammetry acquisition by Justin Bastien & Aron Hjartarson.

A derelict building by the roadside in California captured using a Canon 1DX DSLR and a DJI drone over a 3 hour period around noon,  10th  November 2019

The highest possible texture resolution from the capture data allows for detail that is around 0.07 inches.  The resolution in the current model is around 50% of that, which more than met the intended objective.

The location itself was chosen because of the tricky subject matter.  Extreme dynamic range (noon sun + strong shadows) as well as many overlapping and occluded surfaces.  The capture was thorough with both drone and DSLR doing several laps around the building.  Each location on the DSLR had around 10 exposures to encompass the dynamic range in the scene.  The total number of images used in the photogrammetry solution were 1237.

Please note that the model in the images has not been cleaned up in any way, it is just the processed photogrammetry data.
